The Carver Fire Department has been hard at work this winter. The Carver Fire Dive Team and support personnel have been spending many nights and weekends rehabilitating the new Rescue 2 vehicle, preparing for a springtime in-service date. To date, Carver firefighters have put in over 250 hours of work on the vehicle, with an additional 250 hours expected before the project is complete. The team has been meeting Thursday nights and Saturday mornings since November to strip down the vehicle, removing all lights, stickers, chrome trim and mirrors in preparation for repainting the vehicle. The team has also fabricated a complete new rear-tow bumper, installed high efficient LED scene lighting, re-polished every red and white scene light, built and installed new custom cabinetry, installed new mobile radios, new compartment matting and have designed a custom command and communications center inside the vehicle.
