Work has officially begun on the huge undertaking of rehabbing our maze building at the Fire Department Training Facility. Firefighters Bob Vestute, Dave Buker and Christine Amaral have gotten the project off the ground by re-framing and removing the three dilapidated garage doors and adding some new trim. Next it will be on to removing all the existing maze partitions and carpet in preparation of re-installing donated carpet and building new, more modern maze structures. The project will take a few months to complete as we are all donating our time. The ultimate goal is to do the project ourselves, building a modern maze course that can challenge our Firefighters. Through the efforts of Fire Captain Matt Sears, we have received a $1,000 grant from the Mass Call Organization to buy materials to help complete the maze project.
Our maze course was first built 10 years ago and has served our Department in immeasurable ways. Firefighters continually use the ever changing course to challenge their confined space skills while working in TEAM’s wearing SCBA paks. Please check back often to see the progress.
