2018 Apparatus Competition – CFD Headquarters - August 6, 2018

Amazing to see the Pride our Firefighters take in their apparatus!  This is the 12th year of our Apparatus Competition. This year, crews focused on our three Front Line Engines, Pierce Impel PUC’s, purchased in 2016.  The winner of this year’s competition was Engine 3, detailed by Company 3.   Crews working on Engine 1 and 2 weren’t that far behind.  Crews spent days buffing our scratches, cleaning all tools, cleaning interior compartments, cabs were reorganized and cleaned, and the Maxim Red exteriors were buffed, waxed and polished.  Too bad their can only be one winner, because they all looked fantastic.  Friendly competitions like this, along with our regular pride our firefighter take in their rigs is why our apparatus have a 20 year life span. Our judges were Retired Plymton Fire Chief John Walker, Onset Captain Jeff Diaz, Finance Committee Member Alan Germain, along with Chief Craig Weston, Deputy Eric Germaine and Assistant Deputy Jesse Boyle.
