Firefighters from Company’s 1 and 3, utilizing Engine 1, Engine 3, Rescue 1 and Breaker 28 responded to a motor vehicle accident with a person trapped in the vehicle in the Wareham Street and Deer Hill Lane area of South Carver.  On arrival firefighters found the vehicle on its side with one occupant trapped in the lower half of the van.  Firefighters assisted Carver EMS, utilizing our new Res-Q Jack stabilization system to secure the vehicle, while another team of Firefighters used Jaws of Life tools to remove the overhead roof.  Once the front windshield and roof of the vehicle were removed, the patient was removed from the vehicle under the care of Carver EMS.  The total extrication took firefighters 17 minutes to preform with firefighters remaining on scene for approximately 1 hour assisting in cleanup of the Incident.
