MVA with Entrapment – Tremont Street - April 24, 2013

At 10:25 am, Firefighters from Company’s 1 and 3 were dispatched to an MVA with Entrapment on Tremont Street near the Carver / Wareham Town Line.  On arrival, C1 (Command) reported a single motor vehicle in the woods with one person trapped inside the vehicle.  Safety Officer BobTelless, went to work securing scene hazards, while Officers/Firefighters from Rescue 1 and Engine 3 stabilized the vehicle, set up a protective hose line and used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver’s door to gain access to the patient for Carver EMS.  Firefighters, EMS Personnel and Police Officers all worked together and the patient was removed from the vehicle within 15 minutes.  Carver Engine 1 and Brush Breaker 28 were also dispatched to the Incident to step up a possible Med-Flight landing zone (LZ-11) at the Decas Cranberry Plant on Tremont Street.  (Photo’s by 314 Retired, Gerry Farquharson)
