Small Structure Fire – North Main Street - March 10, 2014

Company’s 1, 2 and 3 responded to a reported Structure Fire inside a local business in our North Carver District.  First on scene, C1, assumed Command reporting a working fire with smoke inside the building and fire in an interior wall.  First in fire crews from Engine 1 and Engine 2 quickly opened up the interior wall with chainsaws finding and extinguishing  fire inside.  Crews from Rescue 1 worked a small exterior fire on the C side of the building caused by a cigarette improperly disposed of in the mulch.  Carver Engine 3 established a water supply behind the Shaws Supermarket (Water Supply #2-12).  Carver Car 2 and Plympton Engine 2 covered our central station, while firefighters worked the Incident.  Due to a quick knockdown, the fire was contained to a small area with minimal fire and smoke damage. The business was opened for business later in the day. (Photo’s by retired Chief Bill Harriman)
