Thanks to our taxpayers, our 1989 Maxim Tanker has been undergoing a major rehab! The project started in September with DPW mechanic Gerard Terrill installing new radial tires, upgraded LED scene and safety lighting, LED water level gauges, new tachometer, LED cabinet strip lighting and fixing some engine oil leaks. Next, it was on to a sand blasting of the body and frame, a complete paint job and a refurbish of all aluminum diamond plate by M & R Auto Body in Whitman. M & R also relined the fuel tank and installed new cab steps. Then it was on to our gold leaf letterer, Greg Heger, for new chevron and reflective striping, and gold leaf lettering. The Tanker will next come back to Carver where side LED water tank level lights and a refurbished LED light bar will be installed. All new hoses and suctions will be the final touch thanks to an awarded Fire Assistance Grant allowing us to replace all fire hoses and suctions within the department.
