Company 1 and 2, with Engines 1, 2, and Tanker 1 responded to a two vehicle car fire at the Ferrara’s Salvage Yard off of West Street.  Company’s quickly extinguished the heavy fire from the two vehicles, but were forced to use specialized Class “D” Magnesium Fire Extinguishers on one of the vehicles due to magnesium metal in the vehicle.  The small magnesium explosions could be scene for a distance until fully extinguished by Firefighters.  (Photo’s by Chief Craig Weston)
