Carver Fire, EMS, Police, and the Massachusetts State Police all responded. Initial reports indicated that one person may be trapped. Upon arrival, crews encountered a single vehicle crash, with the lone occupant trapped in the vehicle. Paramedics and EMTs from Carver EMS began emergency care to the patient. Carver firefighters used no fewer than 6 Jaws of Life tools to rapidly remove the roof and doors of the vehicle to access the patient. Carver Police and troopers from the Mass State Police barracks in Middleboro provided traffic control, assisted with medical care, and investigated the crash.
Carver’s unique approach to public safety provided a tremendous response, with 28 Carver Firefighters answering the call. Carver EMS provided 2 paramedics and 3 EMTs to deliver life saving measures for the injured driver. With a unified command structure and substantial personnel on scene, Carver Fire, Police and EMS are able to stabilize the incident and provide both rescue and medical care simultaneously without compromise.
