Our new 2013 International 7400 series all wheel drive Brush Breaker has just arrived. The Breaker features a 250 gallon per minute Deutz diesel motor and Hale pump, a 800 gallon water tank, a 20 gallon Class A foam system, front and rear 20.000 lbs. winches, 6 inch rear pneumatic water dump valve, FRC high output LED scene lightning, wireless headset and intercom system, on board GPS tracking / rear camera system, and seating for 4 firefighters. Our newest Brush Breaker is being built at the VTEC facility in Williamstown, Vermont. The build started in mid May 2012 and is scheduled to be delivered the last week in March 2013. Hundreds of hours of committee thoughts and sketches combined with over 2,200 hundred hours of craftsmanship have gone into the design and build of our next generation Brush Breaker. The goal has been to not fix what isn’t broken and to try and match our existing Brush Breaker fleet. The challenge is that, due to new emission laws, the new International 7400 chassis are just plain bigger than we have now. New Breaker 27 will be assigned to Station 1 in the center of Town. The current Breaker 27 will go into reserve status at our Station 1, with its identification number to become Breaker 26.
