Stove Fire with Extension – Purchase Street - February 3, 2016

Company’s 1 and  2 were toned out for a stove fire with possible extension to an interior wall of large house off of Purchase Street.  Engine 1, Engine 2, Tanker 1 and Rescue 1 were dispatched.  On arrival, Captain Bill Froehlich encountered a moderates smoke condition when opening the front door.  The incident was upgraded to a possible structure fire, adding Engine 3, Breaker 28 and Car 2 to the response.  Firefighters were able to quickly remove the built in wall oven and extinguish the fire behind that had extended to the upper cabinets.  The home was vented and the homeowners we able to return to their home.  This situation certainly could have been far worse.
