Carver fire crews assembled early on Sunday morning for all day Brush Breaker training at the rear of the Plymouth / Carver Airport. For many years the airport has been kind enough to allow us use of a large rear wooded parcel to practice our breaker driving skills under realistic conditions. All day long Brush Breakers, guided by Fire Officers, traveled a heavily wooded course set up by Deputy Germaine. Throughout the exercise our entire department, on designated shifts, got a chance to travel the course using Brush Breakers 26, 27, 28 and 29. While groups of firefighters were practicing in the woods, other groups were getting experience with our new Blitz Fire nozzle and driver training on our Polaris Ranger 6X6 UTV (Forestry 25). A big thank you to all our Officers and Firelighters for attending and helping throughout the day! Overall, our goal of giving each Firefighter a real life training experience and increasing their knowledge of working with our large bush breakers was accomplished.
