CFD Companies 1, 2, and 3 responded to a structure fire on Adams Circle in South Carver. Upon arrival, (within 2 minutes) Lieutenant Bogart (303) assumed Command with a large mobile home fully involved and a vehicle in the driveway. Crews from first due Engine 3 worked quickly to knock down the heavy fire from the exterior and then performed a primary search of the building, thinking the homeowner might still be inside. With no occupants found, defensive operations were redeployed to keep the fire from extending to other mobile homes. Carver PD assisted with removing occupants from the neighboring homes. Fire ground operations were assisted by crews from Engine 2, Rescue 1 and 2, Firefighters staffing Brush Breakers and a mutual aid company from Wareham. Over 10,000 gallons of water was shuttled into the fire scene utilizing Engine 1, Tanker 1, Breakers 27, 28 and 29 and a mutual aid Tanker from Plympton. Crews from Carver Engine 4 established a water supply near the park entrance to supply the inbound Tankers. Thankfully, well into the incident it was discovered that the homeowner was not home at the time of the fire, and there are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office. 49 Carver Firefighters responded to the incident and were able to contain the fire to the house of origin despite heavy fire conditions upon arrival. A thank you to Plymouth Engine 2 for assisting with Station coverage during the incident. (Photo’s by C2A – Amy Germaine)
