Company 2 Chimney Fire Drill – CFD Training Facility - December 4, 2023

Fire crews from Company 2 sharpened their skills on Chimney Fires this past weekend. Our Training Facility was designed to include a Chimney Fire Prop. Firefighters can start a small smoldering fire in the lined fireplace on the first floor, while crews extend ladders to the roof, lowering a chimney fire line through the built-in flue, clearing obstacles, and extinguishing the fire. Smoke in the Building – Main Street - November 20, 2023

Fire crews from all Companies were toned out for smoke in the building at 90 Main Street. Assistant Deputy Boyle took Command on arrival reporting a smoke condition in one end of the building. MVA in Water – Tremont Street - June 13, 2023

In the early morning hours, the Carver 9-1-1 dispatch center received an automated call from an Apple Watch, indicating a motor vehicle crash had occurred. 2023 Annual Brush Fire Drill – Myles Standish State Forest - April 30, 2023

This year’s Annual Deputy’s Drill focused on a large-scale Wildfire in the Myles Standish State Forest.  An estimated 200 Officers and Firefighters from 15 Towns and State agencies, utilizing 14 Brush Breakers, 10 Forestry Trucks, 3 Tankers, 3 Engines, a State Incident Support Unit, numerous Command Vehicles, and Chief Officers participated in the morning exercise.  The drill tested Plymouth County’s Myles Standish Response Plan used for any wildfire that might strike the State Forest.  Multiple mutual aid radio frequencies were...

Brush Fire – West Line Road - April 4, 2023

Fire Companies 1 and 3 were dispatched to a reported brush fire in the area of West Line and Federal Pond Road in the Myles Standish State Forest. Due to the remote location, and extremely heavy fire load in the state forest, a special mutual aid response (Myles Standish Response Zone Activation) was activated to bring additional mutual Brush Breakers to the scene. MVA Entrapment – South Main Street - March 31, 2023

CFD companies 1 and 3 responded to South Main St in the area of Sampson’s Lane for a vehicle that had left the roadway and landed on its roof. Recruit Training Class #21 – Rescues Practical - March 30, 2023

Our new Recruit Firefighters put their knowledge to work at an MVA rescue practical at our Training Facility. Using a donated vehicle, our Recruit Instructors guided our new Firefighters through the process of using our new electric and hydraulic Jaws of Life, air bags and specialized rescue tools to free simulated trapped occupants.  Each time a Firefighter can practice simulated rescues under a controlled environment, makes them more proficient during the real emergency. Brush fire season is here! Fire crews responded to multiple brush fires over the past week.
