Annual Truck Competition – The second annual truck inspection competition was held on August 2, 2004. Organized by FF Bob Middendorf, the event challenges the 3 Firefighting Company’s to have the cleanest Engine. The trucks are judged for all facets of interior and exterior appearance. Many man hours (and woman hours) of labor are volunteered by the company members to outdo the other ends of Town. The winner of the competition, this year Company 1, gets to keep a large trophy at their station for the ensuing year. The trophy was donated by the Syosset New York Fire Department in memory of 4 of their Firefighters who had answered their last alarm.
