Company’s 1, 2 and 3 responded to a reported Structure Fire in the area of 19 Brook Street in North Carver. On arrival Deputy Chief Germaine declared a working fire with a heavy smoke condition and moderate fire in a bedroom area. Firefighters from Engine 2 immediately stretched an 1 ¾” attack line through the front door of the dwelling knocking down the fire. Fire crews from Engine 4, Rescue 1 and Engine 1 checked for fire extension in the attic and basement area. Once no further extension was found, the structure was ventilated. As a precaution, Engine Company 3 laid a 4 inch water supply line about 700 feet to a nearby water drafting site. All occupants safety exited the building before fire crews arrived and there were no injuries to any firefighters. Carver EMS and Carver PD assisted at the scene with any needed medical care, traffic control and the fire investigation. Overall, Firefighters did an outstanding job containing the fire to one bedroom and the home can be repaired. Over 40 Firefighters manning 4 Engines, Tanker 1, Rescue 1 and 3 Brush Breakers responded to the Incident, with a Plympton Engine company covering our Central Station.
