At 4:18pm, Fire Company’s 1, 2 and 3 responded to a reported House Fire on North Main Street.  On arrival, heavy Fire was reported from a 1 ½ residential home with one person self-evacuated and in distress and reporting up to 5 more occupants trapped inside.  Chief Officers and arriving Engine Companies quickly went into a rescue mode of operation, quickly knocking down the main fire, while conducting a primary search of the residence.  As additional Engine Company’s arrived, secondary searches were conducted of the living area in the basement and a recheck of the first floor.  Thankfully, no additional occupants were found.  Crews from Engine 1 made the initial fire attack, knocking down the bulk of the fire, with firefighters from Engine 2 and Engine 3 continuing fire suppression, venting windows and the roof.  Crews from Rescue 1 established a R.I.T. Team with additional firefighters filling SCBA bottles and establishing a manpower sector.  A water supply operation was set up via Carver Tanker 1, Plympton Fire Tanker and Brush Breaker 27.  Water was shuttled from a cranberry bog about ¼ mile away via a drafting operation set up with crews from Engine 4.  The evacuated owner was transported to BI Hospital and the State Fire Marshall’s Office along with Carver PD are investigating the cause.  A big thank you to Plymouth Fire for covering our Headquarters station and Plympton Fire for assisting with a water tanker shuttle.  Firefighters made a great stop in contain the fire, while conducting numerous searches of the home in dangerous conditions for the reported trapped occupants.
