Structure Fire – Pine Ridge Way - July 2, 2021

Companies 1, 2, & 3 were dispatched to a reported structure fire in a town-house development in South Carver just after 3am this morning. The first arriving unit signed off reporting heavy fire showing from the rear of a residence and declared a working fire. Upon arrival, crews from Engine 3 stretched simultaneous attack lines to the rear and to the interior of the residence.

Carver PD and several residents of the town-house development immediately went to work knocking on doors and evacuating adjacent units, moving the occupants to a safe space away from the fire building. A HUGE help to have that taken off of our plate… Thank you Carver PD!

The fire originated on the rear deck area and quickly spread to the interior attic space. Crews made a quick knockdown of the exterior fire but the attic fire proved more challenging as the town-house interior ceilings are vaulted to approximately 20 feet high. Crews utilized 35 foot ground ladders inside the house to access the fire and work with exterior roof operations to chase and extinguish the attic fire. An absolutely fantastic stop by the attack crews preventing fire spread to adjacent buildings!!

The fire was brought under control and prevented from spreading to the the other (3) connected town-houses by a total TEAM effort! We couldn’t be prouder of the response and outstanding performance of our members! Our crews worked seamlessly with Carver EMS, Carver PD, and Plymouth, Plympton, and Wareham Fire Departments. Thank you to our mutual aid partners for your assistance! (Photo’s by Retired Firefighter, Rick Leopardi)
