Fire crews from Company 1 sharpened their skills on Chimeny Fires this past weekend. Our new Training Facility was designed to include a Chimney Fire Prop. Firefighters can start a small smoldering fire in the lined fireplace on the first floor, while crews extend ladders to the roof, lowering a chimney fire line through the built-in flue, clearing obstacles, and extinguishing the fire. Secondarily fire crews use thermal imagers inside the building to check for any extension. The realistic prop...
As a follow-up to the Fire Prevention Program C3 conducted for the residents of the Pine Ridge Condominium Development, Officer/Firefighters of Company 3 spent this past Saturday morning testing the Hydrant Distribution System within the development. Must be something in the water at Sampson’s Pond, as in the last two weeks Firefighters have had to respond to two separate potential water emergencies. Individuals on the boat were thrown from the boat into the water, with the boat damaged and taking on water. All parties managed to get back on the boat and with...
