MVA Entrapment – Tremont Street - September 5, 2024

CFD Fire crews, along with Police and EMS responded to a two-vehicle MVA with people reported trapped off of Tremont Street. Fire crews were able to utilize the rear winch off of Rescue 1 to pull back one of the vehicles allowing firefighters to use Jaws of Life tools to gain access to the trapped/injured occupants in the second vehicle. Smoke in the Building – Snappit Road - August 2, 2024

Carver fire crews were dispatched to a possible Structure Fire, (Smoke in the Building) off of Snappit Road in North Carver.  Due to the very tight roadways in the area, fire apparatus were immediately staged up, only bringing in limited Engine companies as needed.  Crews located a faulty extension cord that had caught on fire and melted.  The home was ventilated from smoke with no damage or injuries reported.  (Photo's by Future CFD Firefighter, Matt Heath)    

Dive Team Drill – Sampsons Pond - July 7, 2024

4th of July Parade Details - July 4, 2024

Forestry 25, Breakers 27. 28, and 29, along with Engine 1 and Squad 1 participated in 4th of July Parades in Plymouth and Duxbury.  Crews spent the entire week getting the rigs parade detail ready.  Their “PRIDE” in our apparatus really shows! Mutual Aid Structure Fire – Middleboro - July 3, 2024

Carver firefighters joined several other agencies in providing mutual aid assistance for Middleborough today. Tanker 1 and C3 responded directly to the scene where they established a nursing operation for a water supply, and crews conducted overhaul activities.  Tremendous aggressive tactics from MFD stopped this fire from being much worse. Fire crews from Company 1 recently sharpened their MVA entrapment skills.  Crews worked scenarios using Jaws of Life tools and specialized Rescue Jacks to free multiple simulated patients trapped in an MVA.  Each crew of firefighters had to work as a team to prioritize each rescue.  The second portion of the drill was a tour of an electric vehicle and training on recently purchased EV immobilizer tools.  Once one of these new EV immobilizers is deployed, it prevents any electric...

This year’s Annual Deputy’s Drill focused on a large-scale Wildfire in the Myles Standish State Forest.  An estimated 150 Officers and Firefighters from 15 Towns and State agencies, utilizing 11 Brush Breakers, 3 Forestry Trucks, 3 Tankers, 3 Engines, a State Incident Support Unit, numerous Command Vehicles, and Chief Officers participated in the morning exercise.  The drill tested Plymouth County’s Myles Standish Response Plan used for any wildfire that might strike the State Forest.  Multiple mutual aid radio frequencies were...

Mutual Aid Brush Fire – Marshfield - April 27, 2024

Carver Fire Company’s 1 and 2, utilizing Brush Breakers 27 and 29  and Car 1 were dispatched as a Brush Breaker Strike Team to the Town of Marshfield for a large Brush Fire.  Brush Breakers 27 and 29 worked with Duxbury and Plymouth Breakers deep in the woods to help extinguish the fire, which had rapidly multiplied into two separate wildfires.  Small drones were used extensively by our Car 1 to assist Marshfield Incident Command in locating the exact wildfire...

Brush Fire – Mazzilli Drive - April 15, 2024

Our new Firefighters reviewed Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in class this week.  Firefighters got familiar with weekly SCBA checks and learned the do’s and don’ts of their PPE gear.  Next class (Outdoor Practical) they will use their knowledge in the field, as live search and rescue practical scenarios will be conducted in our Training Facility. Vehicle Fire – Tremont Street - February 8, 2024

Fire crews responded to a reported vehicle fire off Tremon Street, our South District. On arrival, crews assessed that the vehicle was a van that was fully engulfed and spreading close to nearby exposures. Crews from Engine 3 quickly gained access to the narrow roadway leading us to the vehicle and stretched a 1 3/4" line knocking the stubborn fire down. Structure/Dryer Fire – Purchase Street - January 26, 2024
